The EMBRACE Nigeria Partners Meeting, held in Abuja from 22–25 September 2026, brought together key partners to review Year 1 evidence and shape the next phase of maternal and newborn health interventions in Gombe State. Discussions focused on six priority areas, including human resources, emergency referrals, infrastructure, commodities, quality improvement and continuity of care, with emphasis on developing practical, sustainable and patient-centered solutions. The consortium also engaged the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to align EMBRACE with national RMNCH+N priorities. As the project enters its next phase, partners remain committed to translating evidence into action and strengthening maternal and newborn health systems.

ACEPHAP, in collaboration with the National Population Commission (NPC) Kano State Office, conducted a four-day training to equip supervisors with skills in electronic birth registration (e-CRVS), maternal mortality surveillance and KASSEP dashboard data use. The training, implemented under the KASSEP initiative, aimed to strengthen data quality, accessibility and use for evidence-based decision-making in maternal and child health. Participants from key health and data institutions were prepared for a pilot rollout across 10 LGAs, with emphasis on accurate data collection, analysis and practical application to improve health outcomes and policy planning in Kano State.
